Greetings from Mrs. Jeania Burton, Principal:

Hello and welcome to the Montgomery City Elementary webpage!  We are thrilled that you have chosen to visit us electronically to learn about our school, our programs, our staff, and our students.  We are very proud of the educational opportunities that we provide at Montgomery City Elementary (MCE.)  MCE is an elementary school educating students in pre-K through grade five.  We offer a rigorous curriculum based on state and national standards with opportunities for both enrichment and remediation.  Our faculty and staff are committed to creating a positive learning environment through the implementation of the professional learning community philosophy and by utilizing Positive Behavior Supports.  To assist with developing proficient readers and writers, Montgomery City Elementary is implementing a balanced literacy model which includes the use of reader’s and writer’s workshop to allow teachers to work with each learner at his or her ability level.  Our curricular offerings are designed to maximize learning; however, we know that it takes partnerships with parents, mentors, and community resources to help each child reach his or her fullest potential.  We invite you to join us in our mission to help every child experience success.  Please take this opportunity to explore our website to learn about the many progressive programs that MCE offers.  Additionally, please feel welcome at any time to visit Montgomery City Elementary.  Of course to maintain a secure environment, we ask that you check in at the office, but we would love to have you stop by to see firsthand the wonderful things happening at MCE.  Thank you for visiting and check back often for updates!
